Chapter 7: For These Kinds of People, Discipline Comes Before Education (2)

For These Kinds of People, Discipline Comes Before Education (2)

“I get it! I’ll live properly from now on! Just please let go of my hand! My wrist feels like it’s going to shatter! Please! I’m begging you!”

With one final squeeze, stopping just short of breaking his wrist, I let go.

The blond delinquent fell to the ground, clutching his wrist and collapsing like his lackey.

“Hah… hah… hah… I thought I was going to die…”

“Oh, please. Something like this wouldn’t kill you. Anyway, delinquent number one, you’re wearing a uniform, so you must be in high school. Let me see your student ID.”

“Huh?”

“Don’t ‘huh’ me. Did you not understand? Show me your student ID.”

“O-okay…”

Thoroughly cowed, he stood up, trembling, and pulled out his student ID from his wallet.

“Let’s see… Takeda Shinji, a second-year at Joto High, huh? So, Takeda-senpai…”

“W-what?”

“If I hear about you hurting someone again, I’ll come to Joto High myself and beat the crap out of you. Got it? By the way, I was going easy on you today. Even with your head as thick as it is, you get that much, right?”

“Y-yeah…”

“‘Yeah’? That’s not how you respond. A proper reply is ‘Yes, sir,’ isn’t it?”

“Y-yes, sir.”

“Louder.”

“YES, SIR!”

“Good. And remember, even if I just hear rumors about you causing trouble, it’s the same deal. From now on, live a decent life without bothering anyone. Got it, Joto High’s second-year Ta-ke-da-se-n-pai?”

“YES, SIR! I promise I’ll turn over a new leaf and live properly!”

“Good. Now get out of here. I’m letting you off just this once. Consider it a special favor.”

I shoved the student ID back into his chest.

“I-I’m so sorry!”

Takeda-senpai bowed deeply in apology, grabbed his trembling lackey, and practically ran off toward the station gates.

“Phew…”

Watching them scurry away, I let out a small sigh.

Not that I was tired.

Compared to my five years as a hero, dealing with this was no more exhausting than cleaning the bathtub.

(Honestly, pretending to act tough like that isn’t really my style. I’m a pacifist at heart.)

Still, people like them never respond to kindness.

In fact, they tend to grow even more brazen, sometimes even retaliating out of spite.

If it were just me, I could handle them no matter how many times they came back or how big a group they brought.

But I couldn’t allow any harm to come to Hasumi-san.

So, reluctantly, I went all out to discipline them—but honestly, this kind of thing isn’t really my forte. I hope it’s the last time.

Just then,

“Um, Oda-kun… Thank you, really…”

Hasumi-san approached me hesitantly, her voice tinged with nervousness, as she thanked me.
