Wife
Lux’s Side
After buying a few of the flowers we had picked out together, Florence-san and I arrived in front of the mansion where we would be staying.
“It’s a very splendid mansion.”
When I looked up at the mansion and spoke honestly, Florence-san responded.
“Yes… Though it doesn’t belong to me, so I can’t really say it with pride. But I’ve heard that the owner of this mansion is someone connected to the Duke Florence family, and that my father helped design and build it.”
“Really!? That’s amazing…”
To think that her father not only knew someone from another country who could own such a mansion, but had actually helped construct this grand estate himself. As expected of Florence-san’s father, he was clearly someone remarkable.
“One day, I want to study architecture like my father did… and also deepen my knowledge of gardening, so I can create beautiful places of my own.”
“I think that’s a wonderful goal! When that time comes, I’d love for you to teach me about those things. I hope I can commission some work from you too!”
When I said that, Florence-san gave a gentle smile and replied.
“Fufu, when that time comes, as your wife, Lux-sama, I’ll do it all for free. So please don’t worry.”
“Y-Your wife…! F-Florence-san, if someone hears you say that, it’s embarrassing. Maybe don’t say it so loudly in public…”
“Wife…?”
From the side, I heard a familiar voice tinged with confusion.
When I turned toward the sound… there stood Siana, dressed in a maid outfit. We had separated not long after entering the Katiswear Empire.
Trying to cover up my embarrassment from the current conversation, I turned my body away from Florence-san and toward Siana, then spoke.
“Siana, are you done with your errand?”
“Yes! I apologize for leaving your side, Master!”
“No, it’s fine. If there was something you wanted to see, I want you to enjoy it freely. You don’t need to apologize.”
“Thank you so much…!”
Siana responded with a very bright smile.
Seeing her smile lifted my mood as well.
“There’s something I’m a little curious about, Master. Why did you use the word ‘wife’ just now?”
Just as I was beginning to feel cheerful, her question pulled me right back into the earlier embarrassment. I quickly tried to explain.
“I-It’s nothing really, so don’t worry about it, Siana.”
When I said that, Florence-san, who was standing beside me, spoke up.
“What are you saying, Lux-sama… This isn’t something unrelated to Siana-san. You need to explain it to her properly. But if you’re too embarrassed, I can explain it in your place.”
Explain… That Florence-san is going to be my wife, and she’s going to tell that to Siana herself!?
Just imagining it sent a wave of embarrassment through me. My heart started racing, and my face flushed.
While I was still in that state, Florence-san stepped up to Siana and continued.
“Siana-san, you were asking about the word ‘wife’. To put it simply… I am going to be Lux-sama’s wife.”
“L-Lux-sama’s… wife…?”
“Yes. When that time comes, please support both me and Lux-sama, won’t you?”
After Florence-san said that, Siana stiffened slightly and stared at her. She looked completely thrown off by the sudden news.
Wanting to help calm her down, I spoke directly to her.
“Siana, Florence-san did propose marriage, but we haven’t officially agreed on anything yet. So there’s no need to worry, okay?”
“…!”
When I said that, Siana’s eyes widened as she spoke.
“So in other words, the statement that Florence-sama will be your wife wasn’t something you declared, Master. It was a hypothetical proposal from her at this point. Is that correct?”
“Yeah, that’s exactly right.”
When I said that, Siana paused for a moment, then smiled and replied.
“I’m sorry, Master. I was just a little shaken because I thought you had suddenly chosen a fiancĂ©e!”
“No, it’s completely understandable to be surprised if you heard something like that out of nowhere. There’s no need to apologize.”
“Thank you so much… Master, what have you been up to until now…?”
After that, I told Siana about everything that had happened since arriving in the town.
Florence-san advised me not to mention the incident with the stolen wallet, since it might make Siana worry. I didn’t want to trouble her either, so I left that part out and just talked about my impressions of the town.
Siana’s Side
“…Lux-sama, now that the conversation seems to have settled, shall we head inside?”
“Yes! Siana, are you okay too?”
“No problem at all!”
When Siana responded like that, the three of them entered the mansion where they would be staying. After checking in at the front desk, they began walking down the hallway.
As they walked, Siana stared at Florence’s back and thought to herself.
This woman, I’ll never forgive her… Talking about becoming Lux-kun’s wife like it’s already decided, just to rattle me…!
After that thought, she continued thinking.
Even though I was the one who asked for it, Lux-kun is traveling to another country for sightseeing with her… and I haven’t even gotten the chance to do that yet… and now this woman…!
Even though she understood there was nothing she could do about it, Siana still couldn’t accept it completely. The strong murderous intent she radiated made her feelings obvious. Lux immediately sensed it and turned around. Siana quickly suppressed the bloodlust and asked,
“Is something the matter, Master?”
“N-No, it’s nothing.”
After saying that, Lux turned back around and started walking again, and Siana followed right behind him.
I want to be alone with Lux-kun as soon as possible.
After that, the three of them entered the rooms they had been assigned. Once she finished putting her things away, Siana immediately headed for Lux’s room.
