On the Day
Floria’s Side
Early morning.
As she prepared to leave the house, Floria spoke.
“Considering the Third Princess’s temperament and the fact that she’s infiltrated the Rodwell family as a maid, it’s likely she’ll make her move tonight… However, we can’t entirely rule out the possibility that she might act this morning or even during the day. For that reason, let’s go ahead and monitor the current locations of the three male students.”
With her sword at her side, Floria completed her preparations and stepped alone outside the Duke Florence estate in the early morning light.
Lux’s Side
Late morning on a day off.
Today, as a surprise for Siana, who’s always doing so much for me, I planned a day out for just the two of us.
Siana’s constantly working so hard for my sake, and I really want her to have fun today, more than anything.
Once I finished getting ready to head into the city, I decided to wait for Siana in front of the estate, watching the garden while she finished preparing.
“I really ought to thank Siana more often for always keeping the garden this beautiful.”
As I murmured that to myself while waiting for Siana, a voice called out to me from behind.
“M-Master! I apologize for the wait!”
Turning at the sound of her voice, I saw Siana standing there, wearing something completely different from her usual maid uniform.
Her outfit was woven in a white and pale blue gradient, paired with a short white skirt… and her nearly white silver hair was gathered neatly into a single bundle.
I’d always known that Siana was far too beautiful to be confined to a maid outfit, but now, seeing her dressed in something else for the first time in a while, that truth struck me all over again.
“…”
While I stood there captivated by the sight of Siana, she spoke.
“H-How do I look, Master?”
There was only one possible answer to that question, so I gave it to her plainly.
“You look absolutely stunning! Siana, you’re just so adorable and beautiful!”
“T-Thank you so much!”
Siana’s cheeks flushed pink as she smiled happily.
“Did you pick out that outfit yourself, Siana?”
“Yes. I wasn’t sure if it would suit me, but I really liked the style.”
“It suits you perfectly! And just the change in your hairstyle alone gives you a whole new vibe! You’re always adorable and beautiful, of course, but it’s like… the kind of beauty you’re showing today is different somehow. Right now, you look so graceful… and dignified.”
“D-Dignified? Me? T-That’s…”
Despite her words, Siana’s lips curled into a smile, and she looked genuinely pleased.
Truly, Siana is not only a devoted attendant but also an incredibly charming girl.
I reached out and gently patted Siana’s head as I spoke.
“Siana, today’s a surprise I planned just for you. So don’t hold back, just focus on having a great time, okay?”
“Y-Yes!”
Watching Siana respond in her bright, cheerful voice made me so happy that I smiled back at her without even thinking.
And with that, Siana and I headed into the city together.
Elizalina’s Side
Elizalina had learned from her sources that the three male students were currently staying in a building on the outskirts of the city, a safehouse they had prepared just in case. She also knew that the earliest day for “processing” them started today.
“If they’re hiding out on the outskirts, then whether I go during the day or at night doesn’t really make a difference. Maybe I’ll just get it over with now… Haah, I’ve done a lot for this country over the years, but out of everything I’ve ever done, what I’m about to do today, for Lux and Lux alone, feels more meaningful than any of it. Lux, don’t worry. Leave everything to me.”
Whispering tenderly to Lux, who was far away, Elizalina began her mission.
