Chapter 196: Declaration

Declaration

Siana’s Side

“Lux-sama, Third Princess.”

After the three of them had spent some time looking at the flowers, Floria addressed the two of them in a more formal tone.

“I intend to return to my original purpose and purchase some flowers, so I shall take my leave for today… Thank you very much for allowing me to spend such a pleasant time.”

When Floria spoke in her usual calm manner, Lux replied with his usual bright expression.

“The pleasure was mine, I really enjoyed learning so much about flowers! Thank you very much!”

“If such a small matter pleases you, then please feel free to ask me again anytime… Also… Third Princess, I ask that you be careful not to harbor any improper thoughts toward Lux-sama.”

Turning from Lux to face Siana, Floria delivered that warning.

Even if Florence tells me that, if I could harbor such thoughts, I would, but right now I still cannot do that with Lux-kun.

Thinking that to herself, Siana quickly gave her reply.

“Yes, I understand.”

“I see… Then I shall take my leave.”

With those words, Floria turned her back on them and went straight into the shop selling flowers.

What a troublesome woman, as always… I will surely have to deal with her in various ways in the future, so I must make my moves early… however.

“…”

Siana glanced at Lux out of the corner of her eye.

Since Lux-kun is here beside me, none of that matters right now!

Blowing away all the stress that had built up from meeting Floria, Siana spoke to Lux.

“We have enjoyed the flowers enough, so how about we just walk around town for a while?”

“Understood!”

Smiling brightly, Lux readily agreed, and the two began walking side by side through the town.

Then Lux spoke quietly.

“This might sound rude, but… most of the times when I come to town, my attendant Siana is with me, so walking like this with Felisiana-sama reminds me of Siana.”

“I see… But you do not need to think of it as rude, so please feel at ease.”

“Th-thank you very much.”

My hairstyle, clothing, speech, mannerisms, and tone should be completely different between me as the Third Princess Felisiana and me as Siana… Could it be that Lux-kun senses something beyond those superficial aspects?

As Siana wondered this, Lux began to speak.

“Siana is a girl far more amazing than someone like me… She can study, she can do housework, she is kind, and sometimes the scale of what she says surprises me… But as her master, I want to become more worthy of her.”

“I see… As expected, your way of thinking is wonderful, Lux-kun.”

“Ah! T-to have you say that makes me really happy.”

Hearing himself called wonderful, Lux replied with embarrassment.

Watching Lux like that, something came to Siana’s mind, and she asked him about it.

“Lux-kun… If your attendant were to tell you a great lie, would you… despise her?”

“I would not.”

“…!”

When Lux answered instantly and with certainty, Siana widened her eyes, and Lux continued.

“Even if Siana were to lie to me about something, I would believe that in the end it was because she was thinking of me… So no matter what kind of lie Siana might tell, I will always remain by her side.”

“Lux-kun…”

Hearing those words spoken so earnestly, Siana was deeply moved and could not tear her eyes away from his face.

But then Lux quickly shifted from that serious expression to a flustered one and said,

“Ah! B-but of course, if a wonderful man were to appear for Siana, then I would celebrate it properly and keep the appropriate distance…”

Perhaps worried about his earlier words of staying by her side, Lux hurriedly added that he had meant nothing more than as her master, trying to explain away any other implication.

There is absolutely no possibility of me being united with any man other than Lux-kun… The one I love, now and forever, is only Lux-kun.

After that, the two of them walked happily through the town bathed in the glow of the setting sun, chatting as they went. And as it began to grow dark, they promised to arrange another time to meet and parted ways for the day.
