Chapter 230: Encounter

Encounter

When break time began at the noble academy, I submitted the paper choosing my partner for the commerce practicum to the teacher, together with Florence-san.

The teacher nodded and said.

“Rodwell-san and Florence-san, the two of you. I’ve received it.”

After saying that, he handed us another sheet and continued.

“For this commerce practicum, you’ll choose which item to sell from the list written on that paper, and then you’ll actually carry out the commercial activity.”

When I briefly turned my gaze from the teacher to the sheet, an enormous list of types of commerce and actual goods to be sold was written out.

…I already knew from everything so far that the noble academy could prepare this much, but it’s still impressive.

As the teacher began to speak again, I immediately returned my gaze to him.

“In this commerce practicum, there will also be a special award if your sales are high, so please take part enthusiastically and aim for good results.”

“Yes!”

“Yes.”

After finishing with the teacher, we returned to the lecture room, looked at the sheet we had just received, and began discussing it together.

“It seems they have prepared a wide range of things, from clothes and food to furniture and tools we don’t normally use.”

“Yes, I believe it is the school’s consideration so that students from any kind of household, regardless of their family business, can actively take part in commerce.”

“I see… Florence-san, do you have any experience with commerce?”

“I’ve taken part in business meetings, but going out into the town like this will be my first time. How about you, Lux-sama?”

“For me, not only have I never gone out into the town for something like this, I’ve never done anything related to commerce at all, so I’m excited, but also a little nervous.”

When I told her honestly, Florence-san gave me a gentle smile and said.

“Please don’t worry. Whenever you are troubled, I will always support you, Lux-sama.”

“Florence-san… thank you!”

After we looked through the list once more, I asked.

“Florence-san, among these, what would you like to sell?”

“Let me see… I thought I would like to sell flowers.”

With a gentle and calm tone, she continued.

“If it is flowers, I can truly feel I want to sell them, and I’ve some knowledge as well.”

“If that is the case, then let us choose flowers!”

“…Is that alright?”

“Of course! I cannot compare to your knowledge, but I also love flowers, and I would be happy to see people up close when they buy them and feel delighted.”

When I answered that, Florence-san smiled softly and said.

“That sounds like you, Lux-sama… If you say that, then let us sell flowers together for this commerce practicum.”

“Yes!!”

Selling flowers together with Florence-san…!

This commerce practicum really seems like it will be something truly enjoyable for me.

And… once classes ended for the day, I headed alone to the largest library in the country.

When I looked around, countless books surrounded me.

“…It feels a little nostalgic.”

Before entering the noble academy, I often came here to study, but lately I had felt studying in my room was enough, so I hadn’t been able to come much.

A lot has happened since I enrolled, but now isn’t the time to look back on the past.

The reason I, who believed studying in my room was enough, came to the library today.

The answer is simple. Since I’ve never taken part in a commerce practicum before, studying in my room alone is nowhere near enough this time.

For the moment, I took one book on commerce into my hand, then walked to the area where books on negotiation skills were located.

“…According to the guide, I turn here.”

Following the guide, I turned and headed toward the bookshelf where the negotiation books were.

At that moment.

“Huh…?”

I saw the person standing there and let out a confused sound without thinking.

That person was a woman with bright pink hair tied into two tails, wearing clothing with a slightly open neckline… Second Princess Elizalina-sama.
