Siana’s Side
“…Lux-kun is walking off together with Elizalina-anesama.”
“It appears so.”
After Elizalina announced that a man she wished to become engaged to had appeared, and that this gathering also served as a celebration in advance of the birth of the next king, Siana and Violet continued to keep watch over the venue and exchanged those words.
“Of course we’re going to follow the two of them now, but if Elizalina-anesama really tries to drag Lux-kun off to an inn or something, then just like we talked about beforehand, I’ll cut Elizalina-anesama down and—”
“What we discussed beforehand was restraining her.”
Violet cut in, interrupting Siana, and continued calmly.
“If Ojou-sama truly attempts to take such an action, I’ll have no choice but to restrain you rather than Elizalina-sama, so please refrain from doing anything rash.”
“…Haa, fine.”
Siana nodded, though she clearly didn’t look convinced.
From Violet’s perspective, that reaction alone seemed sufficient, and she didn’t appear particularly dissatisfied with Siana’s response.
After that, the two of them left the venue of the event hosted by Elizalina and followed after Lux and Elizalina as they moved on, careful not to be noticed.

Before long, they arrived at an open area overlooking the town. There were no buildings, not even trees they could hide behind.
Lux and Elizalina seemed to have stopped a short distance ahead, but from here, Siana and Violet couldn’t hear what the two of them were saying.
“She likely chose this location specifically so that no one could eavesdrop, having calculated the possibility that we might be following Rodwell-sama.”

If they did, Siana would have to explain to Lux why she was even here in the first place.
If this had been an event hosted by the royal family in general, she could’ve lied and claimed she’d received an invitation from Felisiana. But since this event was hosted by Elizalina, if Elizalina herself said she had no recollection of inviting Siana, that alone would make Siana a suspicious presence at the venue.

At this point, all Siana and Violet could do was quietly watch over Lux from here, just in case something happened.
Elizalina’s Side
“Yep. This should be the place!”
Having reached a spot that overlooked the entire city, including the royal castle, Elizalina stopped and cheerfully spoke while gazing out at the scenery spread before her.
Lux, who’d been following just behind her, also came to a stop.
Up until a moment ago, Lux had looked tense, but perhaps seeing the view before them eased that tension.
His expression softened slightly as he spoke.
“You can see the entire city. It’s a really beautiful view.”
Nodding at Lux’s words, Elizalina smiled and said,
“Right? I really like the view from here too.”
Just talking cheerfully with Lux about their impressions of the scenery like this.
That alone would undoubtedly become a very happy memory for Elizalina.
And Elizalina believes that happy memories are important things. But.
Today, she didn’t come here just to make pleasant memories with Lux.
Today, Elizalina came here so she could live a happy future together with Lux.

Hearing Elizalina’s words, Lux took his eyes off the scenery and turned his gaze toward her as he replied.
Elizalina then added, as if to clarify.
“To be precise, it’s not so much something I wanted to talk about. Today, there was something I wanted to tell you.”

Lux asked that with an openly confused expression on his face. Elizalina nodded and smiled gently as she spoke.
“Yeah. Will you listen? To something I’ve wanted to tell you for a long, long time…”
