Chapter 302: Resemblance
Lux’s Side
“…”
Siana and Elizalina-sama.
Which one is c-cuter…
Calling Elizalina-sama, the Second Princess, “cute” still feels a little improper.
In that sense, maybe I should choose Siana, but saying Siana is cuter than Elizalina-sama for that reason alone also feels wrong.
Then again, both of them are truly beautiful, so I can’t rank them… or rather, now that I look closely, their faces somehow seem a little alike…
“Lux!”
“Master!”
While I was silently agonizing over it, the two of them called out to me at the same time.
“Uh, um…”
I know I have to choose one.
I know, but.
Still…
“I can’t choose which of you is cuter, Siana or Elizalina-sama! To me, both of you are truly beautiful, adorable, and incredibly charming as women!!”
I got flustered and ended up blurting it out with far too much force.
I said it with my eyes shut, but.
“…”
“…”
When neither of them responded, I slowly opened my eyes, unease creeping in.
Then… both of them were blushing, their lips slack as they murmured something under their breath.
“That’s not fair, Lux-kun… I only asked which of us was cuter, but if you go and say something like that out of nowhere too…”
“Th-that’s not fair, Lux… If you say something like that, it just makes me want to try even harder to make you think I’m cute…”
I couldn’t make out what they were saying at all, but it was obvious their behavior was completely unlike usual.
Even after watching them for a little while, neither of them snapped out of it.
…Oh, right!
Elizalina-sama is here, and I haven’t served any refreshments!
Realizing that, I quickly spoke up.
“I’m going to brew some tea now, so Elizalina-sama, and you too, Siana, please relax here!”
Siana was acting differently than usual, and considering she was a maid, maybe that was only natural, but she was always the one who made tea for me.
So today, I wanted to make tea for Siana instead, and with that in mind.
I left the garden and returned to the mansion to prepare it.
…Even so.
“I wonder what’s gotten into both of them.”
Muttering to myself, I walked down the hallway and took out everything I needed from the cupboard in the guest room.
A teapot, teacups, and tea leaves.
I immediately began preparing to brew the tea.
…I don’t usually do this myself, and making it for three people might take a bit of time.
Thinking that, I clumsily went about the preparations when…
“Rodwell-sama, if you would permit me, may I assist you in brewing the tea?”
I heard a voice from behind me.
Someone offering to help me make tea…!
It was more than I could have hoped for, so I immediately replied.
“I was just short on hands, so that would really help—”
Just as I was about to finish saying that.
I realized that the voice behind me belonged to a certain person.
And a bewildered sound slipped out of me.
M-maybe I misheard.
But… I definitely heard it clearly.
But if that’s true, why would that person be here…?
Thinking that, I slowly turned around.
“Until now, our reunions have been separated by quite long intervals, but this time it has only been about two weeks. I am very pleased to see you again.”
Standing there was a beautiful purple-haired woman in a black maid uniform, bowing to me with perfect politeness as she spoke.
…It was Violet-san, the attendant to the Third Princess Felisiana-sama.
