Chapter 358: The King’s Misunderstanding

Chapter 358: The King’s Misunderstanding

Felisiana’s Side

“Fe-Felisiana…!? Why are you here!!”

In contrast to the king, who looked as though he had only just managed to force those words out,

Felisiana spoke with calm composure and firm resolve.

“When Violet entered the throne room earlier, I slipped in with her while concealing my presence… I’m not as skilled at it as Violet, but… it seems it was enough to fool you, Father.”

“Wha…!”

As king, he was usually exalted by those around him, so he was likely unaccustomed to being spoken to so disrespectfully.

Having received what could only be taken as a direct insult, the king immediately raised his voice in anger.

“Felisiana! Setting aside that insolent remark just now, failing to use proper speech toward this great king is a grave probl—”

“How could I possibly have any respect for a father who tried to take my precious Violet away from me?”

Though, to begin with, I never had any respect for Father in the first place.

Thinking that,

“If anything, you should be grateful I’ve even bothered to use polite speech on the surface until now.”

“Grateful, you say…!? Just who do you think you are speaking to!”

The king, his anger evident in his face, voice, and posture, turned his gaze from Felisiana to Violet.

“Violet!”

Calling her name loudly, he pointed at Felisiana.

“Force that insolent girl to kneel before this king! I don’t care if you use force, this is a royal command!!”

A royal command.

In other words, it takes precedence over the orders of not only the Third Princess Felisiana, but also the Second and First Princesses.

“…Your Majesty, it seems you are under a misunderstanding.”

As she spoke, Violet rose to her feet.

With unwavering eyes, she looked straight at the king.

“My master is Ojou-sama… the Third Princess, Felisiana. Therefore, I will never obey an order from Your Majesty that would bring harm to Ojou-sama.”

Her voice remained as calm as ever.

Yet sensing the unshakable strength within it, Felisiana’s lips curled slightly upward.

“Wha…! Ghh…! In that case, I’ll simply subdue you along with her by force! Come out!!”

At the king’s command,

Dozens of armed soldiers emerged from behind the pillars on both sides of the throne room.

The soldiers leveled their spears as they faced Felisiana and Violet.

Seeing this, the king nodded in satisfaction.

“It’s too late to apologize now… here and now, I will carve the greatness of this king into your very beings once more.”

“Once more? Have I ever felt any sense of greatness from you before, Father?”

“…!!”

The king’s face flushed red, as if boiling over with anger.

However, Felisiana paid it no mind, leaning her back lightly against Violet as she spoke.

“We can handle this, right, Violet?”

“Yes, we are not surrounded as Elizalina-sama was at that time… no, even if we were, as long as they are not soldiers trained under Elizalina-sama but those acting under Your Majesty’s command, there would be no issue.”

“That’s true.”

Immediately after that brief exchange,

“Attack!!”

The king’s shout echoed through the throne room.

The soldiers charged forward, spears aimed at Felisiana and Violet… however,

Without exchanging a word, the two moved in perfect sync, leaping into the air, drawing a sword and a dagger respectively, and the moment they landed… in the very next instant,

“Wha…!?”

The soldiers collapsed to the ground all at once.

And with that,

Only Felisiana, Violet, and the king remained, the latter now stripped of his earlier composure, standing there in stunned disbelief.

“Father… now that you’re the only one left… what shall we do with you?”
